Questions
What size is 4x2 timber in millimetres?
It's usually sold as 47x100mm. Likewise, 6x2 is 47x150mm and 8x2 is 47x200mm.
Do you sell untreated timber?
Our sawn timber is all pressure treated, which suits indoor and outdoor work and is far easier to get delivered quickly. CLS studs for internal walls come untreated. Timber in contact with the ground needs treatment rated for it, so ask us if you're not sure.
What size joists do I need?
Joist size depends on the span, spacing and load. Check with your structural engineer, or use your building control officer's span tables.
